View from my window, truly the whole area is gorgeous. Where I stayed was called Maghera, and had free parking for my car. So I hopped on the bus across the bridge, then onto a water bus.
They just have fruit stands all over Italy. I love it.
I took a water bus tour that brought me to Murano, Torcello, and Burano.
Murano is known for it's glass blowing and this demonstration was SO cool.
Torcello is known for being the first settlement but is no longer densely populated because it's kinda swampy. Swampy indeed, I got eaten alive.
Last, there was Burano, which is known for it's many colored houses which was initially started to help differentiate the homes.
This cat had similar markings to Lady, but was NOT nice and hissed at me. Just look at that glare.
I thought it was funny that right after seeing the cat I noticed this restaurant.
Saucy indeed 😉
Once we got back to the main land I headed to the catherdral and a restaurant that the British couple I chatted with had recommended for the Bolognese. It did not disappoint.
The server insisted I have a limoncello on the house. I always forget how strong they are, but delicious.
I considered going for a gondola ride but thought by the end it might make me a little sad and I was just in such a good mood I had no desire to dampen it and decided to forego. Another time hopefully awaits me.
This building has been converted into a playhouse I guess!
These two were in the doorway.
I'm sure it's a great view up there, but way too many people.
Perhaps my favorite photo of the day. What a scene.
Started to get chilly by the end of the evening.
Last photo in Venice.
It was a long day and I was certainly ready for bed and very excited for my beach day in Pescara.
My drive down the coast was long, but enjoyable. Erre cento uno is my favorite station and I will be listening to it for years to come as long as iheartradio has it. I had to stop for gas and couldn't help but take pictures of the full blown cafeteria like place inside.
An interesting sculpture at the beach that mother and son who own the B&B I stayed at dropped me off at. I had asked to use one of the bikes at the property, but they said lately they've had problems with people stealing them so offered me a ride.
I went swimming in the Adriatic Sea!
Sooo when you want to comfortably read and you don't have a beach chair, you make one. Also I forgot how much fun playing in the sand is. I used to spend HOURS making tunnels and bridges and castles.
This street was around the corner from where I stayed and was full of bars and restaurants.
This is where I ended up eating, and decided to get the Chef Primo, so I don't actually know what I ate other than that it was pesto based with fresh basil and tomatoes and definitely homemade pasta. It was really good. No dessert here, I got some gelato and walked to the waterfront.
They have this pedestrian bridge that's also for bikers and they completely separate out the uses. Pretty interesting.
Saw this on the walk back super close to the B&B and thought of Michael Scott and started to laugh.
My B&B was named for this guy.
Finally back in the room and ready to call it a night. It only bothered me enough that the bed wasn't centered under this light that I had to take a picture lol.
My room had a little balcony and I left the window open and it was kinda nice falling asleep to the faint sound of people chatting in Italian at the nearby bars.
Sooo turns out breakfast is serve yourself lol.
Fueled up for my morning drive, which thankfully wasn't more than two hours, but since parking is a bitch in Rome I decided it'd be best to get there in the afternoon so I could check in and use the hotel parking for free. So my morning in Pescara was nice and leisurely.
